An intrinsic treatment of ubiquity phenomena in higher-order computability models

چکیده

We introduce some simple conditions on typed partial combinatory algebras (viewed as models of higher-order computability) which suffice for an axiomatic development of some non-trivial computability theory, including various forms of the Kreisel-LacombeShoenfield theorem, along with the author’s earlier ‘ubiquity’ theorems which say that a wide range of computability models all give rise to the same ‘hereditarily total’ functionals. This results in a cleaner, more ‘intrinsic’ formulation of the latter theorems, which we are moreover able to generalize to cover certain computability models of a non-deterministic character. Within our axiomatic framework, we also investigate extensions of the ubiquity results to a much wider class of types, arising from simple types via subset and quotient constructions. This enables us to cover many types of interest that arise naturally in mathematical practice (e.g. in real or complex analysis), and establishes the existence of robust computability notions at such types. In the present Part I, we introduce our axioms and the conceptual framework, and carry through the required proofs for firstand second-order types. The focus here is on the Kreisel-Lacombe-Shoenfield theorem, which we adapt to our axiomatic setting in various ways. In Part II, we will extend our results to type 3 and above, using the construction of Normann which we exploited in our earlier work on ubiquity.

Discontinuous Residue and Theme in Higher-Order Semiotic: A Case for Interlocking Systems

The fallacy persists in discourse analysis research to explore lexicogrammatical phenomena detached from any adjacent plane of the meaning potential. In an attempt to dispel this and toss out some preconceived notions about what a modern SFG vantage point should involve, this study homes in on one aspect of SFG within prose fiction in particular, which is very revealing in terms of how separ...

Analyzing Vulnerability of Geotouristic Atractions in Tourism Destinations

Extended Abstract 1- Introduction Today, geotourism phenomena and geological heritage are at risk of being destroyed by the changing lifestyles and industrialization of most countries. These changes are based on high rates of resource consumption, such as energy, materials, soil, as well as increased production of tailings and waste (Gray, 2004). In recent years, as the number of tourist’s in...

Effects of different atomistic water models on the velocity profile and density number of Poiseuille flow in a nano-channel: Molecular Dynamic Simulation

In the current study, five different atomistic water models (AWMs) are implemented, In order to investigate the impact of AWMs treatment on the water velocity profile and density number. For this purpose, Molecular dynamics simulation (MDS) of Poiseuille flow in a nano-channel is conducted. Considered AWMs are SPC/E, TIP3P, TIP4P, TIP4PFQ and TIP5P. To assessment of the ability of each model in...

Static Dependency Pair Method Based on Strong Computability for Higher-Order Rewrite Systems

Higher-order rewrite systems (HRSs) and simply-typed term rewriting systems (STRSs) are computational models of functional programs. We recently proposed an extremely powerful method, the static dependency pair method, which is based on the notion of strong computability, in order to prove termination in STRSs. In this paper, we extend the method to HRSs. Since HRSs include λ-abstraction but ST...

(HO)RPO Revisited

The notion of computability closure has been introduced for proving the termination of the combination of higher-order rewriting and beta-reduction. It is also used for strengthening the higher-order recursive path ordering. In the present paper, we study in more details the relations between the computability closure and the (higher-order) recursive path ordering. We show that the first-order ...
